Organization:
The Coptic Medical Association of North America (CMANA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to healthcare through medical missions, education, and humanitarian outreach around the world. Working alongside volunteer physicians, dentists, and healthcare professionals, CMANA serves underserved communities by providing compassionate care while supporting the long-term development of local healthcare systems.
Challenge:
As CMANA's mission continued to grow, its brand and digital presence no longer reflected the quality or impact of its work. Outdated visual communications and inconsistent messaging made it difficult to engage new audiences, showcase its global initiatives, and inspire healthcare professionals to get involved. The organization needed a more cohesive brand experience—one that clearly communicated its mission, highlighted the people behind it, and encouraged physicians, dentists, and volunteers to participate in future medical missions.
Solution:
We developed a unified creative direction that elevated CMANA's brand through thoughtful design, refined digital communications, and a documentary-inspired visual identity. Rather than relying on traditional nonprofit imagery, our approach focused on honest, cinematic storytelling that reflected both the intensity and humanity of each mission. Every touchpoint—from the website and brand communications to photography and film—was designed to immerse viewers in the experience, capturing moments of compassion, resilience, and connection in a way that felt authentic, emotional, and deeply human. The result was a more cohesive brand experience that better represented the organization's mission while inspiring healthcare professionals to become part of its growing community.
“The Work of Our Hands”
is inspired by the people who give their time to serve others, and the places where a little care can make a lasting difference.
Film & Photography:
The intention was to move beyond simply documenting the mission and create something cinematic that captured what it felt like to be there. Film and photography focused on the emotion within the smaller moments—the relationships, expressions, environments, and quiet exchanges happening around the work. The result is a visual record that feels human and immersive, while giving CMANA a lasting body of imagery to carry those stories forward.
Digital Experience:
The website needed to do more than explain the organization. We refined key pages and content to make CMANA’s work easier to understand, its missions easier to explore, and the path to volunteering or giving more direct. Photography and video from the field was brought forward throughout the experience, giving a clearer sense of the people, places, and work behind each mission. Together, the imagery and content create a more immediate connection to CMANA’s work around the world.
Social:
Social became an ongoing way to bring CMANA’s work to life beyond individual missions. We developed a more distinct visual system and content approach that brought photography, stories, mission updates, volunteer opportunities, and organizational news together under one recognizable voice. The result was a more cohesive presence that increased engagement while helping CMANA reach people beyond its existing community.
Print:
The imagery was created with a life beyond the screen in mind. Photographs were paired with the voices and experiences of the people pictured, creating large-format pieces designed to promote screenings, support events, and bring the stories of each mission into physical spaces. At scale, the images become more than documentation—they give the people and moments behind the work a presence in the room.
